senior Prom part II ~Nate arrives~

Nate arrived looking as spectacular as ever! He looked so stylish in his black tux with stripes and snazzy pink tie...his outfit went SO well with my dress...perfect match!

I tried to pin on his flower but the fake nails just weren't letting that happen :)

Thank goodness for my mom who stepped in and is a pro and pinning on the flowers!

Ta-da...

I just had to get a picture with our masks..

My handsome date

Senior Prom part I ~the morning~

The morning of prom was very eventful....my mom and i went out and got me some fake nails (going girlie) around ten. Then we headed out to lunch and then i went back home where i got my mask all put together, I was able to with the help of Shawna make a cute flower for my mask which was later used in my hair. After working slightly on my makeup my mom and I went out to go and get my hair did ( thanks to my Aunt Debbie). Afterwards we came home so I could add on my finishing touches...then wa-la i was all done and awaiting for Nate to arrive.

LDS Prom

May 7, 2010 Central Park "A walk to remember"
I was lucky enough to be able to convince Nate to come with me to LDS prom this year. We went with our friends Scott and Heather...and met up with a good friend Kourtney and her boyfriend Alex along with some of their friends from their ward. We started off at PLU where we had the Phillips take our photos-we did group, couples, and some individuals. Then we headed over to the 94th building for dinner where I got the chicken alfredo and Nate got the london broil...along with dessert which was chocolate for me and cheesecake for him. We then headed to the building in Sumner where the dance was being held. The night was fantastic- it was definitely a night to remember!

Nate and Kendahl decided to go semi-formal on this prom seeing as we had two in the same month, so for this one Kendahl got to go and help Nate pick out a shirt that went along with the dress. I think we turned out to be a pretty good looking couple!

Kendahl's individual Pictures, wearing the jewelery Nate gave me for Christmas!

From couple to group photos we had a blast walking around PLU!

He makes me laugh and smile :)

In the car on the way to the dance & Brittany and Joey Erickson- old friends

Nate and Steven and I agree Nate did smell amazing!

Senior Awards Assembly

Each june Washington High School has our senior awards assembly where awards are given to our seniors. Each fall seniors can turn in a scholarship notebook and the scholarship committee made up of teachers and counselors and throughout the year as scholarships come in to our school they distribute them out to the students, which is pretty cool. I was awarded with three $1000 scholarships. The Altrusa club, The Showmans club, and the Distinguished Portfolio (which i actually had to compete for). Along with the Senior Leadership award, The Presidents award, The honors award, and the outstanding senior in theatre award.

Seminary graduation

Four years of 5 a.m. wake up calls but i FINALLY did it- On june 6, 2010 I graduated from Seminary with both four years of perfect attendance and The Honors Recognition. I was also asked to speak by Sis Lee, so i got the chance to sit up on the stand and speak on my experience of participating in the seminary program.

My little niece Brooklyn

Well on the sixth of may i received the news that i was an Auntie to a beautiful baby girl named Brooklyn Elisabeth Ray Derbidge. I wasn't able to fly up and see her birth nor able to go up with my mom to visit when she went down to Utah to see Brandon and her so I was really excited to meet this little girl when she came up for my graduation. The pictures are of me and my little niece-she is adorable and has big buggy eyes which bring a smile to your face!

Brooklyn fell asleep on me

All dressed and ready for church

Ready for graduation That look is priceless!

The bug eyed beauty! I couldn't help but kiss her!

Mom In the HOUSE!

so this past THURSDAY or yesterday, however you prefer....was my MOMS BIRTHDAY (i won't disclose her age...mu hahaha)

but ya so being involved in sports and school sometimes sucks when it comes to not having a lot of time...especially when its your mommy's birthday....
see i was supposed to have a golf match ( which i later found out that the girls team got "sick" and so we just played six holes instead)
and my mom's co-worker was taking her out for dinner...so it kind of all worked out...
but since i did get home a lot sooner than expected i went out and mowed the lawn...ya its that time of the year again....but our back yard isn't fully grown yet...so i didn't feel like mowing dead grass lol...and the fact that i was heading over to the marinis house to babysit so Ember could go to a primary meeting.....ya so i got home around 9 and then realized i still had a HUGE amount of homework....oh well i enjoyed some cake with my mom first...then headed to my room to do about two hours of homework....yay me!

well all my homework is done and i was super tired this morning, which doesn't put me in the best of moods...ya..but HEY its friday....there IS always a bright side to everything...lol

well tonight i am taking my mom to the nail salon to get our eyebrows done..ya these beauties aren't natural...lol...then i am headed over to my friends house for dinner....E~ward (a.k.a. elizabeth ward) came back from Washington State University for spring break and called me up so we are hanging out tonight...

tomorrow is basketball regional tournaments so i will be spending the whole day balling it up!!! hopefully we make it to the championship game which is at 3p.m. so if you are trying to get a hold of me contact my mom..because i will be BUSY!!!..lol

alrighty....laterz

NAV 101

so this week i was called down by Mrs. Huggler (counselor at WHS) and was asked to go to the Navigation 101 conference being held at the Hotel Murano...(fancy shmancy hotel) and go and present to teachers and staff all over the state who are trying to get the program in their schools. I was asked to speak on behalf of the portfolio and how using Navigation 101 has assisted me in my preparation for my senior presentation coming up i found out march 23!!!! can you believe it?!?!? i sure CANT!!!

wow so first off before i go off and rant about my portfolio presentation let me tell you how this conference went...

so FIRST off...we were supposed to dress up so i had to wake up at my regular time but today i had to actually get up and get dressed up fancy, not my usual t-shirt and jeans....( i have realized that i do have a "high school style"...one of my teachers said once that in high school all he ever wore was jeans and a hoodie...and i was like nah i dress up usually once or twice a week...haha not my senior year, its all about t-shirts and jeans...and a hoodie or sweatshirt!) kinda funny to look back and see that ...BUT anyways i wore slacks (ya i own those....haha) and a polo and i curled my hair and put make up...like real makeup...so i looked like a girl...who would of thought that it was possible?!?!? lol

alrighty so we got downtown to the hotel and walked in and BAM there it was...breakfast catered for us...can you say YUMMY??? cuz i SURE can...so first off they egg and ham breakfast sandwiches..AMAZING and then they had...drum roll please....CHOCOLATE CHIP MUFFINS!!!

these things were like melt in your mouth delicious...hehe

well i got up and had to speak in front of about 200 (give or take) people...kinda nerve wrecking ya i was shaking but got past that...and if ya know me i got really emotional during my speech and started crying and i even made some of my teachers and some of the other people there cry...SCORE! just kidding ya it was good....

Overall great experience and i enjoyed it and felt very honored to be asked to go there and present...

so my portfolio is coming up and ya i am SUPER nervous...ya besides figuring out what i want or should be wearing lol (totally turning into a GIRL) i am freaking out over what i should be saying and all....i am going for distinguished which would mean i have the chance to go for the 1000 dollar scholarship so that adds a lot of pressure....

i'll write back next week and reveal how i did!

Where does the time go?

so ya as you look at the title you might start freakin....BUT don't worry i'm not going to turn all sentimental and all that jazz...i am taking the road more traveled by seniors at this time of senior year....where did all that time go that i pictured in my head last october when i started applying for colleges and these cursed things called scholarships...man i swear it was just yesterday when i was telling my mom "i don't need to do that today, it's not due til March". Well here we are fifth day in march already. WOW baby! where did all my time to be lazy go :P

well little by little i am finishing up all my previously started scholarship applications, grrr i am just SO ready for those things to be OVER....if i have to write ONE more essay about my "college aspirations" i think i might stab my eyes out....ya i went there!

alrighty there is an upside to this rant...ITS FRIDAY which would mean that my portfolio is officially turned in (we find out on tuesday when we are presenting them, so come tuesday at ten o'clock..give or take a few minutes i WILL be freaking out, because i will either be presenting two weeks from that day or a month...so i am keeping my fingers crossed that is the latter but hey knowing my luck lol)
Also seeing as it is friday...that means nate was at work so my mom and i went out and ran some errands before we came home to watch a movie.....so we went and picked up my prom dress!!! it's all altered and i am super excited to show nate the extra we got cut so he can go pick out his tux....i am so stoked to see his reaction to the color :P but back to my story..i got to have a girls night and watch a movie with some chips and chocolate milk :) ya salt and vinegar chips with the cold refreshing chocolate milk just CAN'T be beat...hate to say it but it is pretty good....Cheetos with chocolate milk IS the best...but salt and vinegar proved a good runner up :D
So we watched Where the Wild Things Are, ya hmmm umm well i am definitely not a movie critic but i will say that it was an alright movie, i mean it was only an 140 word book, how good could the movie REALLY be? HUH? ya but nah it was cool....kinda dragged in the middle but overall i am glad i got to watch it... :)

tomorrow is saturday which is also a plus to today being friday...haha that means NO SCHOOL for two days....WOOT WOOT...but anyways tomorrow morning i will be waking up to go play some basketball and then hoping to come home to wash the car and vacuum it out and then off to the boy scouts fundraiser....BUT i will admit the best part of the day will be going to the fundraiser and getting to see NATE!!!! first time since sunday ( yaya laugh all ya want, go ahead roll your eyes if ya want to too) but hey going six days is a long time for us...yes we do text and talk but i like being able to see him in person too.... :)

well thats all i have to say for the time being...haha

i'll write later-ya don't fret it will come :)
